Vaping At School To Kick A Smoking Habit Leads To Controversy And Viral Video
A video that I had never seen before claims that a mother is upset after her son’s school decided to confiscate his vaporizer, which he and his mother claim he was using to kick a half of a pack a day cigarette smoking habit. While I’m not here to debate the authenticity of any of this, what I will say is that I too, assuming the young man’s claim is authentic, look to vaping as a healthier alternative to smoking. Subsequently, this is a topic that really touches home for me as I can’t help but relate after what I myself have been through in this regard. Even still, it’s difficult to decide whether or not the school was wrong or justified in their decision to take his vape away. I can see where both sides are coming from to the extent that I can’t help but think that it might be both justified as well as wrong, all in one.

On one hand, I can’t help but think that schools could do without such products on their campuses. On the other hand, I can’t help but think that the greater good aside, the good of this young man is also at stake and also to be accounted for. As I personally believe that vaping is a healthier alternative to smoking, I can’t help but commend the young man for his decision to move toward the healthier alternative, a smart decision on his part assuming he couldn’t merely kick the habit without the assistance of the vape. But what about the rest of the students? And the faculty for that matter. What of them all – must they suffer for his benefit? Needless to say, it’s a difficult situation. Whether anyone approached it in the right way is questionable. Perhaps the young man should have just adopted some stealth vaping techniques, maybe then we wouldn’t be having this discussion. Then again, perhaps it’s best that we as a society are addressing all of this here and now. After all, what better time than the present to address today’s issues?
Anyways, here’s the video, which was viewed over 3 million times by the time I found it on YouTube. It was shared on the SWNS TV YouTube channel.
