Vaping Instead Of Smoking, The Benefits Explained

Vaping Instead Of Smoking, The Benefits Explained

Vaporizing (vaping) is better than smoking, no doubt about it. I can attest to that personally and there are also numerous studies to back what I’m saying. In essence, the vapor is less harmful because it doesn’t contain nearly the level of carcinogens found it smoke. And from what I can tell, it’s also less harsh on your whole respiratory system, leaving it less inflamed and bothered after inhalation. So it’s less harmful, smoother, and serves the same purpose. Why wouldn’t it be better?

I could cite studies here and provide analysis, but that’s not what I’m here to do right now. I’m just pointing out the obvious truth here: vaping is superior to smoking. I’m going to sit back and call it now because it is what it is. In the meantime, scientists will continue to debate which is better and why, I’m sure. But I’m welcome to form my own opinion now and that’s just what I’ve done. The science seemed sound and after putting it to the test, my own body as the guinea pig, I can attest: vapor is less harmful than smoke. And not even by a little margin, by a large margin. The difference, at least for me, is huge. Smoking was rapidly deteriorating my health and vaping has yet to show any signs of doing the same or similar. We’ll need years of prolonged vaping by vapers out there like myself before the science can really weigh in conclusively and the same goes for my opinion on the matter, but for now, my early impression is that vapor is obviously less detrimental to one’s health than smoke when inhaled on a regular basis.

What Are The Benefits?

For me, the benefits of vaping instead of smoking are numerous. I had swelling in my mouth, my nasal passageways, my throat, glands around my neck, and so on. I also had other signs of abuse in and around my mouth. While others might not have noticed, I did and it was not a pretty sight. It was uncomfortable too. And it was accompanied by other complications. It was a real issue. I even went to a specialist at one point. In the end, while physicians were only able to speculate, the real issue became clear to me: it was largely related to smoking. I was a heavy smoker and it was taking its toll. This compounded with some other issues and left me in a pretty awful situation as far as my health was concerned. So after I managed to quit, something that I did by vaping instead, which you can click here to read all about, the benefits were many:

  • Swelling went away. There was quite a bit of swelling as I mentioned, mostly around my neck and face. While I could be wrong, it seems pretty obvious now as it did then that the swelling was directly related to smoke inhalation.
  • Weird discolorations disappeared. Had some strange things going on with my skin, particularly around my face. It basically all disappeared shortly after I fully transitioned from smoking to vaping.
  • Bags under my eyes largely disappeared. What started out as one bag under one eye eventually became a sorry sight: bags under both eyes, one worse than the other. I looked like I was dying and after I quit smoking, they disappeared – not entirely, but for the most part. Where I once looked unhealthy, with my eyes swollen, puffy, and bruised, I once again look like my relatively healthy old self.  Although, admittedly, this part took a while.
  • My skin in general improved. I could pinpoint a lot of the improvements, but it’s easier to say that in general, I saw an improvement in my skin quality.
  • Became easier to breathe. While I was smoking, my breathing became very strained. I would have issues breathing at night at times and sometimes during the day. I’d often feel like I was breathing hard when I was doing next to nothing. After I quit smoking, my ability to breathe well came back quick. It was dramatic at first and then less so as it continued to improve. Today, I still feel like it’s continuing to improve as I keep up with my exercise regimen, but the gains are less dramatic than the days and weeks that followed my last cigarette.
  • Energy improved. I wouldn’t say that I’m as energetic as I was before I started smoking, but my energy levels are way back up.
  • More free time. Where I once had a lot of free time, admittedly, I now have that much more. As it turns out, smoking cigarettes was eating up a lot of time (and my health). Now that I don’t, I have that much more time to do the things that I want to do.
  • Less stress. Having more time, more energy, feeling better, and looking better have all played a part in reducing my stress levels and these are all areas where I saw improvement after I quit. Subsequently, I’ve actually seen a reduction in stress in my life after quitting where I, prior to having quit, may have very well assumed the opposite would be the outcome.
  • I smell better. Smokers stink and everyone knows it. Now that I don’t smoke, I smell that much better.
  • Everything tastes better. My taste buds have obviously returned to a large degree as food tastes that much more potent now. It’s amazing.
  • I can smell things again. I could always smell so this is phrased in a bit of an exaggeratory fashion, but all the same, my ability to smell has improved dramatically since I quit. While this isn’t always a good thing given that life doesn’t always smell very pleasant, it’s something that I’ve really grown to appreciate where I live – an area where the world is fresh and wild, where it smells like dew in the mornings and rain in the afternoons. A sweet and sometimes awful smelling world. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
  • Less burn holes. I burn a lot less of my stuff now that I don’t smoke. In fact, it almost never happens now that I’m not accidentally burning stuff like my clothing with the end of a lit cigarette.
  • More money. This is an obvious benefit to a lot of smokers. Cigarettes cost money and when you smoke a lot, it adds up quick. While vaping still costs money, it’s actually less expensive than smoking when done right. Reusable vaporizers are typically the more cost effective solution, as opposed to one-time-use vapes that you toss after using.

I may update this later as more benefits become apparent but for now I feel like this is a good compilation of benefits to vaping over smoking. If you want to add some of your own to the list, do it by leaving a comment in the comments section below.
